BOSTON, Oct. 14, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Rubin Rudman is pleased to announce that Rion Vaughan, a partner in the firm's Bankruptcy & Creditors' Rights practice, has been selected for inclusion in the American Bankruptcy Institute's (ABI) prestigious 2026 class of 40 under 40 lawyers. This is the tenth year that the ABI has identified the 40 top industry professionals under age 40 who are rising leaders in the bankruptcy and insolvency industry – lawyers who are making a meaningful impact through their leadership, achievements, and service. The honorees will be recognized at a ceremony during ABI's Winter Leadership Conference in December.

Vaughan advises companies, lenders, investors, and asset purchasers in navigating all aspects of insolvency and restructuring – from Chapter 11 reorganizations and liquidations to distressed M&A and bankruptcy-related litigation. His experience includes representing parties on all sides of a distressed transaction, including debtors, creditors, and buyers of distressed debt. He regularly advises on loan-to-own strategies, title disputes, and creditor enforcement actions, achieving outcomes that protect client interests and preserve asset value.
Known for his calm, strategic approach, Vaughan guides clients through high-stakes proceedings in federal and state courts, including contested sales, Subchapter V reorganizations, and avoidance actions.
Vaughan has been named to Lawdragon 500 Leading Bankruptcy & Restructuring Lawyers (2025-2026), the Legal 500 Boston Elite in Banking & Finance (2026), Boston Magazine's Top Lawyers for Bankruptcy (2025), and Massachusetts Super Lawyers (2024-2026). He is involved with the ABI, the Turnaround Management Association, and the National College of Bankruptcy Judges. He earned his J.D., cum laude, from Boston College Law School. Vaughan earned his B.A., magna cum laude, from Stonehill College.
The ABI is the largest multi-disciplinary, nonpartisan organization dedicated to research and education on matters related to insolvency. ABI was founded in 1982 to provide Congress and the public with unbiased analysis of bankruptcy issues.
