Robin by Atera Achieves 321% ROI According to New Forrester Study

Study finds Robin, Atera's Autonomous IT agent, autonomously resolves up to 90% of manual service desk tickets by Year 3, driving $7.3 million in total benefits against $1.7 million in costs

NEW YORK, Sept. 14, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Atera, the pioneer of the Autonomous IT platform for the modern enterprise, today announced the findings of a new Total Economic Impact™ (TEI) Report conducted by Forrester Consulting on behalf of Atera. The study examined the potential financial impact of Robin by Atera and found that a composite enterprise organization could realize a 321% return on investment, $5.5 million in net present value, and payback in less than six months over three years.

Enterprise IT teams described a familiar set of challenges before deploying Robin, including reactive, largely manual service desk operations, high volumes of repetitive, low-value tickets, fragmented tooling, and rising support demand that would otherwise require adding headcount to sustain service levels.

To quantify Robin's impact against those challenges, Forrester interviewed four enterprise decision-makers and combined their experiences into a single composite organization, a 2,500-employee enterprise with $800 million in annual revenue and a 30-person Level 1/Level 2 service desk team. Over three years, the study found the composite organization achieved $7.3 million in risk-adjusted benefits against $1.7 million in costs, for a net present value (NPV) of $5.5 million.

"Enterprises are increasingly looking for third-party validation and peer proof over vendor claims," said Gil Pekelman, co-founder and CEO of Atera. "This study gives IT leaders a numbers-based answer to the question every CFO is asking about AI investments: what's the actual return? Robin was built to remove everyday technology friction so teams can focus on higher-value work. Forrester's study shows how that can translate into measurable financial impact for a composite enterprise organization."

Autonomy that scales with the organization

According to the study, Robin was forecasted to autonomously resolve 60% of manual service desk tickets in Year 1, increasing to 90% by Year 3 as integrations matured and Robin's knowledge base expanded. For the composite organization, that modeled autonomy curve contributed to five categories of quantified benefits over three years:

  • $3.3 million in avoided IT service desk costs through autonomous ticket resolution
  • $533,000 in efficiency gains from Robin's autonomous triage of incoming tickets
  • $2.9 million in recovered end-user productivity through faster issue resolution
  • $241,000 in avoided hiring costs as Robin absorbed ticket volume growth without added headcount
  • Avoided shadow IT remediation costs worth $305,000 through reduced end-users' reliance on unsanctioned tools and workarounds

Interviewed organizations also reported improvements they could not quantify, including a shift from reactive "firefighting" IT support to a more proactive service model, more strategic use of IT staff time, and stronger SLA performance. One interviewed healthcare organization reported that SLA compliance improved from 75% to almost 100%.
